Cellulite is commonly known as the lumpy fat that appears on the thighs, upper arms and buttocks. There has been so much debate about the causes of this lumpy fat (among women) that is sometimes referred to as cottage cheese fat. Is there anything one can do to reduce the appearance of cellulite? Can you actually get rid of cellulite? Or is it just simply something that is impossible to eradicate? There are some steps that you could take to begin the process of getting rid of it however, you may never get rid of it completely. One of the key factors in removing cellulite is losing weight, as it is essentially fat that appears lumpy instead of smooth.
Exercise
One of the most important things you must do if you want to eliminate cellulite, is exercise. This is vital as it helps, tone and tighten the body, as well as get rid of any unwanted toxins in the body via perspiration. Choose exercises such as power walking, light jogging, pilates and yoga.
You need to burn off the excess fat in your body so it is very important that you think about doing some intensive cardiovascular exercise. Cardio is essential in the fat burning process, and as you sweat you will be removing undesirable toxins, thus aiding in the eradication of unsightly cellulite.
Detoxify
There has been much debate, about the powers of detoxification, some experts have said that detoxing your body does
not work because our bodies are already naturally designed to eliminate waste. Therefore as human beings we don’t have to go on a special diet to eliminate waste products from our system. The kidneys are designed to clean the blood as well as the liver, so it is not necessary to clean the body further by restricting ourselves of essential foods that could rob us of vital nutrients.
On the other hand advocates of detox diets state that, there are so many benefits, as well as clearer skin and more energy, detoxing can help with the elimination of cellulite. When thinking about getting rid of cellulite, going on a juice fast or fruit and vegetable cleanse could really help. It has been argued that cellulite is prominent amongst those whose bodies are riddled with toxins, therefore a swift elimination of those toxins could result in an overall reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
Skin brushing
Skin brushing is something that people have been doing for many years, it is thought to cleanse the skin, remove toxins and give the skin an overall clearer and smoother appearance. It is best to do skin brushing with a firm brush and use large circular motions that are directed towards the heart. There has been no concrete evidence to show that skin brushing works but many still believe that it is an effective way of getting rid of cellulite.
Drink plenty of water
Drinking plenty of water and keeping your body fully hydrated is said to be the single most effective way of reducing cellulite. The recommended daily intake of water is 8 large glasses of water a day. However if you are trying to rid your body of unsightly cellulite, it is best to drink slightly more and up your intake to maybe 10 glasses of water instead. It is best to drink pure clean water that is room temperature instead of freezing cold. You can either buy bottled water or cooled boiled water. There are also water filters that you can purchase, that can purify your tap water. This will save you a lot of money as you don’t have to continually spend money on bottled water.
As you can see there are various ways you could attempt to get rid of cellulite, try all of them or just one of them. However you cannot be sure that any of the methods will completely get rid of cellulite. You can be sure though that there will probably be an overall slight or more noticeable reduction in the appearance of your cellulite.
