Yoga students’ who practice the ancient art of inhaling and exhaling while holding a pose are indulging in a discipline founded thousands of years ago. Students who aspire to perfect this technique benefit from optimal health for the body and the mind. Yoga goes far beyond just breathing and poses, however. First references were over 5,000 years ago when the songs and rituals of the Vedic priests, the Brahmans, were first documented in the ancient text, Rig Veda.
