It has been said that death starts in the colon. Having a healthy colon aids in maintaining overall health. When food is digested and passed down the small intestine it stays in the colon before elimination. If the digested food is not properly eliminated from the colon, the toxins that are released from this dead food can cause illness. For this reason i
t is vital to clean out the colon regularly. You should have a bowel movement two or three times a day, this considered regular. The idea is that whatever you eat should come out of the body. Most people are unaware that having a bowel movement once a week or once every other day is not normal and can lead to many illnesses such as: pimples and other ailments including, chronic fatigue, yeast overgrowth, constipation, indigestion, headache, bloating, a weak immune system, halitosis and many other diseases.
Having irregular bowel movements leads a coating over the intestinal wall, becoming blocked; when this happens, the body cannot absorb the necessary minerals and vitamins to maintain a healthy body. If you do not empty your bowels on a regular basis and have any kind of ongoing illness that keeps on reoccurring despite given medicine from the doctor you should consider having a colon cleanse.
There are two ways to help the colon cleanse by having either a colonic irrigation or fasting. You can do them separately or for maximum effect combine the two. There are many different fasting methods, including a juice only fast, a fruit and vegetable fast, clear liquids fast such as water and herbal tea only. Whichever method you choose to use, it should be followed for seven to ten days and used in conjunction with one of the many natural cleansing herbs such as Slippery elm, aloe vera juice or black walnut.
You can have a colonic irrigation performed by a colonics specialist at a clinic. A colonic irrigation involves an initial rectal exam; this will determine whether your body is healthy enough for the procedure. Conditions such as painful hemorrhoids, active infections or Crohn’s disease will preclude your taking part in colonic irrigation. Also, a colonic will not be given during the first three months of pregnancy. Once you have been given the all clear, your bowels are filled with filtered water to stimulate bowel movement. You will need at least 3 sessions for complete irrigation and each session lasts approximately 40 minutes.
Whatever method that you choose to use maintain the overall health of your colon is very important. Include a lot of whole grains, healthy proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Stay away from foods such as bleached flour and high fructose corn syrup.
Before having a colonic irrigation make sure the procedure is being administered by a licensed practitioner.
