Low Fat Chicken Recipe- How To Prepare Low Fat Chicken Salad

Chicken contains less fat when compared to other types of red meat like beef or pork. However chicken dishes turn into high fat dishes if you do not pay attention to how it is prepared. Contrary to common belief, preparing   low fat chicken recipe does not necessarily take away the taste of your favorite chicken dish. It all depends upon how you cook your chicken. You can microwave the recipe or cook it in a normal pan as long as you do not add extra oil or butter in it. Microwave cooking should be avoided to retain its other nutritional content.

First thing that needs to be kept in mind while preparing a low fat chicken recipe is to buy lean chicken and have the fat trimmed as much as possible. Following is a low fat chicken recipe that can be tried without losing the taste.

Low Fat Grilled Chicken Salad- As salad must be low in fat content; you should make it a point that adding chicken does not turn it into a high fat dish.

Ingredients : Skinless and boneless chicken- Approx 400gr,  Red Potatoes- Approx 300gr, Green beans- 200 gram, orange marmalade 2tbsps,orange juice – ¼ cups, orange zest and diced ginger – ½ tsps each, Leaf Lettuce- 3 cups and two sliced oranges.

Method: Boil the potatoes for around 10 minute and Green Beans for 3 minutes and drain the water. Mix orange Juice, marmalade, orange peels and ginger. Add salt and pepper to taste. Brush ¼ cup of this mixture on to the chicken and grill until both sides are brown. Cut the chicken into small pieces. Mix the chicken, potatoes, orange slices and green beans in a large bowl. Toss this mixture with orange sauce mixtures so that it spreads evenly on the pieces. Your low fat chicken salad is ready, serve immediately.

This simple low fat recipe is much easier to prepare than many other types of chicken salads. It contains only 4 grams of fat which is very low fat content by any standards. The above mentioned recipe is sufficient for 4 people
