by FitnessExpert on March 26, 2010

It takes some efforts and time before your body adjusts to a new diet plan. Most weight loss diet plans seem to be good and effective. However it is quite common that many fast weight loss diet plans are not effective in the long run. What exactly is the reason that causes weight gain soon after you quit your fitness plan?

The most important reason behind regaining your weight is your inability to cope up with strict dietary plans which are often meant for instant results. It becomes all the more difficult for those who love food. You keep craving for your favorite food throughout your dieting plan only to start gorging on food as soon as your fitness program is over. This is exactly what causes quick weight gain.

The Correct Way to Start a Weight loss Plan

As mentioned above that just suppressing your cravings for your favorite food is not the correct way to lose weight. You must make it a habit to eat healthy and tasty food. If you start your fat loss program just because your friends are enrolled to some fitness program; you are likely to fail in your attempt to lose weight. Following are some tips to help you lose weight without forcing your body to cope up with the program.

  • Warm Up – A slight warm-up is required for weight loss program as well. This is not necessarily an exercise program. You must start by increasing your water and fiber intake. Within a day or two you will see some changes in your digestion and bowel movement.
  • Detoxify – This is the next step to prepare yourself for your weight loss diet. If colon cleansing is not a part of your dieting plan; you must detoxify your colon by using some natural cleanser. Quitting alcohol or smoking is also recommended for overall detoxification of the body.
  • Moderate Exercise- Do not assume that your dieting plan will take care of all your weight loss needs. Be proactive by starting some moderate aerobics, yoga, jogging or whatever form of workout you are comfortable with. This will not only prepare you for your weight loss plan but will also speed up the process.
  • Remain Motivated – Keep yourself motivated by listening to motivational CDs which are often provided by your fitness trainers. You can also order them online if you wish. Keep monitoring your weight even after your weight loss diet plan is over.
