Quick Weight Loss Tips- Why Most Weight Loss Plans Fail

by FitnessExpert on April 15, 2010

It is one thing to get yourself enrolled for a weight loss plan and quite another to actually follow your weight loss plan with dedication. Those who successfully lose their weight are the ones who remain motivated and are always willing to do what it takes to remain healthy. On the other hand there is another group of obese people who are always ready with one excuse or another about their inability to lose weight. Not only do they fail in their weight loss plans but also make others believe that losing fat is not possible.

One of the most common excuses is lack of time. It is just like saying that you do not have time to get your car refueled. Remember, you cannot drive your car unless you spend time in filling it up with enough gas. The same goes for your overall health as well. If you do not put in time and effort in taking care of your health, you will suffer from obesity and other diseases sooner or later.

Following are some common mistakes because of which you fail in your weight loss mission.

  • No Exercise: If you believe that you can lose weight without taking exercise; you will most probably fail in achieving your goal. Even if you shed some pounds , you will gain it back in no time because you must keep burning excess fat which is possible by regular exercise or physical activities.
  • Skipping Meals: Another major mistake that does not let you shed weight is skipping meals. You tend to gain more fat if you skip your meals because your metabolism slows down. A slow metabolism facilitates fast storage of fat therefore you must not skip your meals.
  • High Expectations: You fail in your weight loss plan because you start expecting very quick result. There is no miracle formula that can make you slim in weeks. You must expect realistically for long term health.
  • Weekend Parties: If you are on a diet plan but prefer to gorge on fatty foods every weekend, you will end up gaining weight rather than losing it.
  • No Counting Calories: You will soon lose track of your calorie consumption if you do not maintain a diary of your calorie intakes. Small meals, beverages, ice-creams and many other snacks add to your weight. Make sure you learn how to keep a track of your calorie consumption.
