Women are very conscious about their appearance, especially when it comes to their legs; they want them either slim or toned, or both. Toning your thighs is very simple and one should not lose hope because there are a lot of solutions that you can do to shape up your thighs.

Toning your thighs requires discipline, hard work and time. When you finally see and feel the results you will realize that it was all worth it. Most stretching exercises are great for toning, and these exercises can be done without the use of expensive equipment and the best part is that you can do them at home.

Here are some thigh toning exercises for women that have been proven to be effective:

Thigh Exercises:

  • Leg Raises – Lie on your back on an exercise mat or on the floor; wedge your hands under your butt; slightly raise your shoulders and feet off the floor with knees slightly bent; using your abs, raise your legs to 30 degrees, keeping your body steady; then slowly lower your legs back to the starting position without touching the floor. Repeat.
  • Squatting – One of the best exercises for your thighs as well as your butt. 10-15 repetitions of this exercise as part of your daily routine are great in toning your thighs.
  • Lunges – Start by standing vertically and hold weights on each hand; extend one leg forward keeping your back straight and head up; lower your body by slowly bending your knees, make sure that your knee does not extend over your toes; make sure the back leg does not touch the ground then proceed back up to the starting position by pushing off with your heel.
  • Step Ups – Stand behind a platform; place your right foot onto the step and transfer the weight to the heel; push into the heel to come onto the step; concentrate on only using the right leg, using your left leg for balance; slowly step back down and repeat all reps on the right leg before doing the same movements on left leg. Perform at least 1-3 sets of 10-15 reps.

To tone your thighs you need to focus on full body workouts instead of focusing on just spot exercises, which only works the thighs. Also, remember to switch to a healthy diet so you can quickly eliminate fat from your body.
